We want to notify you about a temporary road closure on the north service road at N. Manchester Street and Arlington Boulevard, expected to begin on Monday September 25 and expected to be in place for approximately 2-3 weeks. Signs marking the detour will be set in place on Monday, September 25.
The section of the road being closed is just east of the driveway at 5901 Arlington Boulevard and continues to the start of N. Manchester Street. The service road will be closed during the project’s work hours; Monday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Contractors will be performing pavement and drainage pipe work in the northwest corner of the intersection as part of the Arlington Boulevard & Manchester Street Intersections Safety Improvements project.
Motorists will be directed to use 1st Street N. and N. Montague Street to access the north service road or Arlington Boulevard. Homeowners who live on the service road should travel west to access Arlington Boulevard.
Thank you for your patience during the road closure and throughout the duration of this project. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
For specific questions about the road closure, please contact Charles Boateng at 703-859-0147 or at email@example.com.
Its after Labor Day and the annual local political campaign has started. The Arlington County Civic Federation held it annual Candidates’ Forum at their September 5 meeting. The candidates were given an opportunity to provide and opening statement and then answered a number of questions from the attendees. Since not everyone will be able to see the candidates in action, ACCF has high quality video of the event is available on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDytyyhZs2A (produced by the students from Arlington Career Center).
The entire forum lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes. So if you don’t want to see the whole thing, here are the start times for specific races:
House of Delegates 49th District: Incumbent Democrat Alfonso Lopez and Republican Adam Roosevelt starts 3 min 20 seconds (NOT GLENCARLYN we are the 47th and Patrick Hope is our Delegate)
County Board: Independent Audrey Clement, Democrat Erik Gutshall, and Independent Charles McCullough II – starts 33 minutes
School Board: Monique O’Grady (Alison Dough had another commitment and M.D. “Mike” Webb did not submit form to participate) – starts 1 hour 26 minutes
