The Glencarlyn Civic Association is seeking leaders for the Executive Committee. Current openings include Vice President, Secretary, and Civic Federation Delegate and Alternate Delegate. This is a great way to get to know neighbors and support the community. Elections will be held at the May 6 GCA meeting, and terms begin July 1. Position details are below.

Vice President – Acts as event coordinator for Glencarlyn Days and all our other events including, but not limited to, movie night, fall family picnic, luminaria and holiday party (with the help of additional volunteers as needed).

Secretary – Responsible for attending all GCA general meetings and GCA Executive Committee meetings, taking notes and providing minutes.

Civic Federation Delegate/Alternate Delegate – Attend monthly meetings of the Civic Federation, either in person or virtually, then report back to GCA. Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7:30pm in Hazel Auditorium, Virginia Hospital Center. We have one delegate vacancy and two alternate delegate vacancies. The Arlington County Civic Federation (“ACCF” or “CivFed”) is a not-for-profit corporation which provides a forum for civic groups to discuss, debate, inform, advocate and provide oversight on important community issues, on a non-partisan basis. Its members include over ninety civic groups representing a broad cross-section of the community. Communications, resolutions and feedback are provided to the Arlington County Government on a regular basis.
