About
Glencarlyn Civic Association
The Glencarlyn Civic Association (GCA) is one of the oldest civic associations in Arlington, tracing its roots to 1887. GCA-sponsored activities include the annual Glencarlyn Days celebration and a holiday luminaria. The GCA publishes a monthly newsletter, The Village View, and holds eight meetings per year. Glencarlynites are active and involved in Arlington County civic affairs. Within its boundaries are nearly 500 households, Glencarlyn Branch Library, the Ball-Sellers House—the oldest house in Arlington—and Carlin Hall, Arlington’s first community center. The neighborhood borders Glencarlyn Park, including Four Mile Run, Long Branch Creek and the Long Branch Nature Center.
The GCA is, and shall continue to be, an unincorporated, secular, non-political, non-commercial, non-profit association of residents organized to foster and enhance the civic good, the quality of the lives and property of all its members.
