Glencarlyn Neighborhood BBQ — Carlin Hall Grounds 5711 4th St — Kick off this Glencarlyn Weekend with our First Annual Neighborhood BBQ. Family friendly event! |

8:00 – 10:00* | Pancake Breakfast – RAIN OR SHINE at the shelter in park – at the bottom of the hill at the 3rd and Harrison Street entrance to the park ($5 a person – $15 maximum for families). Remember to bring money for GCA dues $15 (July 2019 – June 2020). Checks are accepted. Also will be selling Glencarlyn shirts, totes, note cards and other items. A Long Branch Park Naturalist will be there with animals from 8:30-9:30 am ![]() ![]() |
10:00 – 2:30* | Hot Dog Roast ![]() Pupusas and Baked Goods Cristo Rey will be preparing home made pupusas – (stuffed corn tortillas) baked goods and lemonade. Both On the grounds of St John’s – 4th St near Lexington |

11:15 – 11:45* | Parade Bike & Float Ornamentation Colored streamers and decorations will be available for decorating your stroller, bike, trike, wagon, or even your pet on a leash. Meet on Lexington between 4th & 5th |
11:45 – 12:15* | Parade – begins promptly at 11:45 – features lots of kids of all ages, a fire truck, police cars. Route – (below) 4th & Lexington to 3rd – 3rd to Jefferson – Jefferson to 5th – 5th to Kensington – to the Library.![]() ![]() ![]() |

Story Time at Glencarlyn Library immediately following the Parade. You can also sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge in partnership with the Washington Nationals. Attend fun events and read your way to cool prizes, including tickets to a Nationals game! |

12:30 – 2:00 | Community Garden Tours & Plant Sale behind the Library (3rd & S. Kensington). Tours by Master Gardeners of the various gardens including native plants, those used for cooking, for fragrance or beauty of their flowers or foliage. “Garden notecards” and some plants will be on sale. Garden questions welcomed. |
1:00 – 4:00* | Historic Ball Sellers House – Open House – ![]() |
2:00 – 4:00 | Glencarlyn House Tours – RAIN or SHINE – Tour five homes built in Glencarlyn over the decades including the Historic Ball Sellers House. Information at the Barbacue, Pancake Breakfast and at Carlin Hall (12:30 – 3:00). |

RAIN DATE- Neighborhood BBQ — Carlin Hall Grounds —Family friendly event! Dinner provided by the GCA – suggested donation is $5 per person or $20 per family. |
